About Us
Boxes. Simple boring everyday ideas which bring you what you need and are then discarded. Yet, if we take a closer look at these flimsy cardboard items then we can discover something more, at least I did. I thought long and hard about some of the things that define me, and I ended up with my family, work ethic, and love for nature. For each topic, I picked a story, or stories, about how and why this relates to me. When I looked at these stories I saw one overarching theme, and that was responsibility and boxes. Although seemingly two very separate things this project has made me think otherwise. If we look at a box what does it hold? My answer to this question is that it can hold anything, but whatever it holds is your responsibility. Many boxes and or crates/ tanks (same difference) held some of my most beloved friends. Of course, I am referring to my pets. My pets have been my closest confidants throughout the years, and this stems from my love of nature and animals. My pets have taught me that you need to work hard for the things that you love. They taught me that if you have something that you enjoy there are always responsibilities to keeping this thing. Then there are my psycho brothers, who love to play in boxes while I babysit. Being an older brother has taught me leadership and the difficulty of parenthood. I won’t try to claim I understand having a child of my own until I do, but after babysitting my brothers I can say that I have begun to understand the responsibility that goes into that. Finally, there is my home gym. This gym was a responsibility that I gave myself in order to become better at something in life. The gym that came in 200 boxes taught me patience, attention to detail, commitment, and most of all that taking responsibility for something and doing it yourself is one of the most satisfying things you can do. These three topics are what lead me to build this website. I seek to share with the world what these things have taught me, one box at a time.
